How much do babies sleep by age?

Newborns sleep 14–17 hours across short stretches. By 4–6 months many babies sleep 10–12 hours at night with 2–3 naps. Toddlers settle into 11–14 hours with one nap. These are ranges, not targets — your baby may sit slightly outside them and still be perfectly healthy.
