How this due date calculator works

It uses Naegele’s rule — 280 days (40 weeks) from the first day of your last period, adjusted for your cycle length. Pregnancy is counted from your last period, not conception, so you are about “2 weeks pregnant” at conception.

How accurate is it?

It is a good estimate; an early ultrasound is more precise, especially with irregular cycles. Most babies arrive between 37 and 42 weeks.
